Looking For a Few Honest Reviews, or A Lot of Them

We’re always grateful for the support of our readers and are thrilled when you come back time and again to buy our latest releases whether online or at conventions and library events.

We would like to ask a favor. We’re looking for more reviews for our books, especially on Amazon. Whether good, bad, or “just okay” as long as they’re honest, it would be an immense help to us. You see, once a book reaches 50 reviews, Amazon helps to promote the book by giving it more exposure on their site. Thus, reviews are critical to an author’s career.

We deeply appreciate the reviews we’ve received so far. The overwhelming majority of them have been effusive. We also know you’re busy, so even just a one-line or two-line comment would be wonderful. If you want to go into detail about why you liked the book, even better!

So whether it was Steve Wilson’s Arbiter Chronicles or Peace Lords of the Red Planet, Phil Giunta’s Testing the Prisoner or By Your Side, Heroic Park by Lance Woods, Diane Baron’s Gal Wonder or The Fandom Fifty, Firebringer Take Two by Phil and Steve, or our Middle of Eternity anthologies, we would love to hear from you on Amazon.

Thank you again for supporting small press authors!

Free Stories on Wattpad!

Phil Giunta recently added two free short stories to his Wattpad profile.

In “Life and Limb,” two sibling scientists in Ireland unwittingly discover an ancient artifact that regenerates severed limbs while healing old family wounds. Click here to read!

The second is a SF detective noir tale called “Working the System.” Two years after leaving the interstellar navy, security executive Cameron Glazier is pressed into assisting with a police investigation after his former captain was found murdered. The man’s death is soon connected to an incident from Glazier’s final mission. Click here to read!

Elsewhere in the Middle of EternityBoth of these stories are among the 14 fantastic speculative fiction tales in the 2016 anthology, Elsewhere in the Middle of Eternity, from Firebringer Press.

The Publishing Pipeline

The Fandom Fifty by Diane Lee BaronThe next book in Firebringer’s publishing pipeline is The Fandom Fifty by Diane Baron.
The history of Maryland’s SF convention scene is chronicled through interviews and anecdotes from many longtime organizers, guests, and attendees. The Baltimore region is home to a number of popular and enduring SF cons that include Farpoint, Balticon, Shore Leave, and others. The Fandom Fifty is slated for release in mid-2019. Cover art by Todd Brugmans.

In eternity, all stories are timeless.

Join gods and mortals in combat against slithering demons in famine-stricken Finland…

Witness an unconventional battle of wits as a devious genie tries to outfox a clever robot…

Ride with two hapless deliverymen as they stumble upon a frightening ritual to propitiate an ancient and malevolent power…

The second project in the pipeline is the third volume in our speculative fiction anthology series—Meanwhile in the Middle of Eternity. This collection of sixteen spellbinding tales of SF, fantasy, and the paranormal follows in the tradition of its two predecessors.

Our august cadre of storytellers includes returning contributors Daniel Patrick Corcoran, Michael Critzer, Phil Giunta, Susanna Reilly, Stuart Roth, April Welles, Steven H. Wilson, and Lance Woods. We’re Just Getting Warmed Up!

Ah, our first blog post on our new website and we’re excited to have you with us!  We hope you’ll take the time to peruse our available titles and get to know our brilliant authors and artists.

So what’s next? We’re working on Meanwhile in the Middle of Eternity, the third volume in our Middle of Eternity speculative fiction anthology series once again edited by Phil Giunta and offering a collection of sensational stories from returning authors Stuart Roth, Susanna Reilly, Daniel Patrick Corcoran, Michael Critzer, Phil Giunta, Lance Woods, April Welles, and our venerable publisher here at Firebringer, Steven H. Wilson. We’ll also welcome several new voices including Julie Fedon, Sean Druelinger, Peter Ong, Christopher Ochs, and Bart Palamaro.

Phil and Steve are planning to release a double horror novel (two books in one) that will combine a vampire novella by Steve called Freedom’s Blood and a paranormal mystery novella by Phil called Like Mother, Like Daughters starring psychic-medium single mom Miranda Lorensen, who has drawn quite a following since her debut in Testing the Prisoner and further adventures in By Your Side. This book will be in the format of the old ACE Doubles where you read one story, then flip the book over to read the other.

We could not be more fired up about our new look and our upcoming releases. Stay tuned as we bring you more news in the coming weeks and thank you for supporting small press authors!
